DIRECTOR, THE CIVIC INQUIRER
Dr. Meyers is Professor of American Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. He currently has academic affiliations with the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, Princeton University, and Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales.
Meyers has received numerous grants and fellowships from institutions and universities around the world, including the French Centre National de la Recherche, the American Political Science Association, the Pew Memorial Trust, the Dana Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, UNESCO, and many others. In addition to teaching and research, Meyers has done consulting work for museums and motion pictures, legal and educational institutions, publishers and private foundations.
Born in New York City, Meyers has lived for extended periods in France, Italy, and Greece. As an undergraduate he studied music composition at New England Conservatory of Music and political science at Williams College and earned an interdisciplinary PhD in political theory from Princeton University.
